We find hidden electrical hazards early to help protect your home, business, and everyone inside.
At Drummond Electric, we treat electrical safety inspections as more than a quick checklist. This service is a careful review of the wiring, devices, and electrical equipment in your home or commercial space to help find hidden hazards, code concerns, wear, and overloaded circuits before they turn into bigger problems.
We often recommend an inspection if you notice flickering lights, tripped breakers, warm outlets, burning smells, power loss in one room, or older wiring. It is also a smart step before buying or selling a property, after a remodel, when adding major equipment, or if your building has not been checked in years. Many electrical issues start small and stay out of sight until they affect safety, performance, or reliability.
During an electrical safety inspection, we may inspect the electrical panel, breakers, grounding and bonding, outlets, switches, GFCI protection, AFCI protection, dedicated circuits, visible wiring, junction boxes, light fixtures, surge protection, and signs of improper or aging installations. We also look for common problems other contractors sometimes miss, such as uncovered junction boxes, damaged cords, overloaded protectors, incorrect bulb wattage, corrosion, and circuit demands that exceed what the system was designed to handle.
For homes and businesses in the San Jose area, this service can be especially valuable in older properties, remodeled spaces, workshops, offices, garages, and outdoor electrical setups. If you have a hot tub, spa, EV charger, generator connection, or other high-demand equipment, we can inspect the supporting circuits and safety devices to make sure everything is operating as it should.
After the inspection, we explain what we found in plain language. If there are safety concerns, code issues, or recommended upgrades, we walk you through the options clearly so you can make an informed decision. Our goal is not to pressure you. It is to give you an honest assessment and practical solutions that protect your property and the people in it.
We are known for being thorough, safety-focused, and easy to work with. If you want peace of mind about your electrical system, contact Drummond Electric to schedule an electrical safety inspection today.
We start by learning about your property, electrical concerns, and any warning signs like flickering lights, tripped breakers, warm outlets, or outdated wiring. Then we schedule your inspection, explain what we will check, and set clear expectations so you know exactly what comes next.
During the visit, we perform a detailed electrical inspection of key components such as the panel, breakers, outlets, switches, GFCI and AFCI protection, grounding, visible wiring, and lighting circuits. We look for overloaded circuits, code issues, wear, and fire or shock hazards that other electricians may miss.
After the inspection, we walk you through our findings in simple terms and prioritize any safety concerns based on urgency and risk. You get practical recommendations for repairs or upgrades, along with honest guidance on how to improve safety, reliability, and long-term electrical performance.

Real feedback on safe, reliable electrical work and a smooth service experience.
We just bought our first home, and we were desperate for a lighting upgrade. Our house still had the original lighting configuration as each room had a switch controlling a single wall outlet for a lamp. We got multiple quotes from electricians and ultimately went with Drummond Electric. Trent came out for the initial quote, provided his professional recommendations and feedback, was extremely personable and fair. We ended up having over 40 recessed lights installed, outdoor lights replaced, security cameras installed, and wired smoke detectors installed. We also included additional items after the initial quote, which Trent and his team took in stride and was able to accommodate all the additions. Trent’s entire team was extremely professional, worked quickly, and they were able to give us exactly what we wanted while providing their professional recommendations. They all went the extra mile during the installation process and installed full electric outlets alongside our outdoor security cameras which will allow us to easily power christmas lights, something we didn’t know we wanted or needed but are extremely grateful that they did! We highly recommend Trent and the Drummond Electric team, we are planning future electrical upgrades and Drummond Electric will be our first call.
