We rewire and upgrade your space for better safety, function, and code compliance during your remodel.
Electrical remodeling is one of the best times to improve safety, function, and comfort in your home or commercial space. At Drummond Electric, we handle the electrical side of remodels with careful planning and clean workmanship, so your updated space works the way you need it to now and in the future.
We work on remodel projects of all sizes, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, garages, workshops, offices, warehouses, ADUs, and outdoor living areas. During an electrical remodel, we can rework old wiring, move outlets and switches, add dedicated circuits, upgrade lighting, install dimmers, add GFCI and AFCI protection, and make sure new appliances and equipment have the right power supply. If your remodel includes a panel upgrade, EV charger, exhaust fan, hot tub disconnect, or specialty lighting, we can include that in the scope as well.
Many older properties in the San Jose area were not designed for today’s electrical demands. A remodel is the right time to correct overloaded circuits, outdated devices, poor fixture placement, missing grounding, or wiring issues hidden behind walls. We often find problems other contractors miss, such as improper junction boxes, damaged wiring, aluminum wiring concerns, or circuits that are not laid out well for modern use. Fixing these issues during the remodel can help prevent nuisance tripping, flickering lights, safety hazards, and costly changes later.
Our electrical remodeling service typically includes evaluating the existing system, planning circuit layout, confirming code requirements, coordinating with your remodel schedule, completing rough-in wiring, installing devices and fixtures, and testing everything before the project is finished. We focus on safe, code-compliant installation and clear communication throughout the job.
Customers choose us because we are experienced, thorough, and easy to work with. We are licensed, bonded, and insured, and we take a safety-first approach on every project. Whether you are opening up one room or remodeling an entire property, we want the electrical work to support your layout, lighting goals, and long-term power needs. If you are planning an electrical remodeling project, contact Drummond Electric to discuss the work and schedule an estimate.
We start with an on-site walkthrough to learn your remodel goals, inspect existing wiring, panel capacity, circuits, and fixtures, and spot hidden safety issues early. Then we outline the scope, timeline, and a clear estimate so you know exactly what to expect before work begins.
Next, we map out the electrical layout for your remodeled space, including lighting, outlets, dedicated circuits, switches, AFCI and GFCI protection, and any panel upgrades needed. We coordinate the work sequence carefully so your kitchen, bath, ADU, or whole-home remodel stays organized and moves forward smoothly.
We complete the remodel with clean, code-ready installation, careful rewiring, device placement, and fixture connections, always keeping safety and workmanship first. Before we finish, we test each circuit, confirm everything works properly, and walk you through the completed work so you feel confident using your updated electrical system.

We just bought our first home, and we were desperate for a lighting upgrade. Our house still had the original lighting configuration as each room had a switch controlling a single wall outlet for a lamp. We got multiple quotes from electricians and ultimately went with Drummond Electric. Trent came out for the initial quote, provided his professional recommendations and feedback, was extremely personable and fair. We ended up having over 40 recessed lights installed, outdoor lights replaced, security cameras installed, and wired smoke detectors installed. We also included additional items after the initial quote, which Trent and his team took in stride and was able to accommodate all the additions. Trent’s entire team was extremely professional, worked quickly, and they were able to give us exactly what we wanted while providing their professional recommendations. They all went the extra mile during the installation process and installed full electric outlets alongside our outdoor security cameras which will allow us to easily power christmas lights, something we didn’t know we wanted or needed but are extremely grateful that they did! We highly recommend Trent and the Drummond Electric team, we are planning future electrical upgrades and Drummond Electric will be our first call.
