The situation
The homeowner’s living room relied on a single central fixture, and the bathroom and dressing area had an old vanity bar over the mirror. The result was dim rooms with shadows in the corners and uneven light on the face at the mirror.

What we did

• Installed 10 Halo 4" LED recessed lights across the living room, bathroom and dressing area

• Laid out the living room lights for even coverage across the whole ceiling, with no dark corners

• Replaced the vanity bar in the bathroom and dressing area with recessed lights placed above the mirror for even, shadow-free light on the face

• Chose 3000K color temperature: warm enough for a living space, and bright and clean enough for the bath and dressing area

• Ran the wiring through the attic, cutting the ceiling only where each light goes

Result
All three rooms now have even, bright light, and the fixtures sit flush with the ceiling. The LEDs use a fraction of the power of the old fixtures and should last for years before needing replacement.
