A lot of homeowners with EVs are still relying on a standard wall outlet to charge overnight. It works, but it's slow and it's not really built for daily use. A dedicated Level 2 home charger changes the whole experience - faster charging, a cleaner setup, and equipment that's actually meant for the job.

Here's what we were working with on this one. The charger needed to live on an exterior stucco wall, which means exposure to weather, sun, and whatever else comes with being outside year-round. Just surface-mounting a charger and calling it a day wasn't the right move here. We went with an outdoor enclosure to house the unit properly - keeping everything protected, organized, and looking intentional rather than thrown together.

The enclosure makes a real difference. The charger sits inside a solid black cabinet that mounts flush to the wall, with a cable management hook built right in to keep the charging cable off the ground when it's not in use. It's a small detail, but it matters. A cable that's constantly coiled on the ground wears out faster and becomes a trip hazard. The setup here avoids all of that.

What you end up with is a charging station that feels permanent - not like an afterthought. The wiring exits cleanly through the bottom of the enclosure with proper weatherproof fittings, the unit is secured and protected, and the whole installation has a finished look that fits the home. That's what a solid EV charger install should look like.

If you're driving an EV and still charging off a regular outlet, you're leaving a lot of convenience on the table. A proper home charger setup is one of the most practical upgrades you can make - and when it's installed the right way, it holds up for years with zero hassle.
